Club Rules

Not quite as bad as school rules!

To help keep the atmosphere and create a respectful environment for all members we politely request that the following rules be observed. All Members and Guests must comply by these Club Rules at all times. Refusal or continual non-compliance with these Rules may result in the Club user being ejected from the premises and termination of Membership if applicable.

Solan Fitness reserves the right to make changes to the Club Rules from time to time, and any changes will be effective immediately. Copies of these Rules can be obtained from reception or from Head Office

OPENING HOURS

The Club’s opening hours, as amended from time to time, are displayed at reception. Members must ensure they cease use of the Club facilities at least 15 minutes before the Club closes to allow adequate time for showering and dressing.

GUESTS

Admitted on payment in advance of the Guest Fee. Guests must book with the Club in advance. Members must accompany their guests at all times and members shall not leave the Club premises before their guests. All guests must sign the guest book and the appropriate Physical Activity Readiness Questionnaire. The Club reserves the right to refuse admission to a guest for reasons of health and safety or if the proposed guest has previously not complied with Club rules. Guest visits are at Solan Fitness’s absolute discretion, and availability may be restricted at peak times. Guests are not able to book studio classes in advance, and may need to pay a fee to attend the class, unless arranged via special appointment with the Club.

FITNESS AREAS

Access to the fitness areas may be limited in the event of classes or pre-organised sessions. Details of these will be posted on Club notice boards or notice will be provided.

DRESS CODE

All Club users are expected to wear suitable attire at all times while using Club facilities. Solan Fitness considers suitable attire to be: a t-shirt or vest; shorts or trousers suitable for training; and closed shoes suitable for training (with exceptions for certain class activities).

The following is NOT acceptable:

Open shoes or bare feet, unless partaking in certain classes as above

No t-shirt / lack of suitable clothing

Jeans or other inappropriate trousers

Getting changed in any area other than designated changing rooms

Inappropriate attire can be offensive or intimidating to other Club users, and as such will not be tolerated. Refusal to comply with the dress code may result in the Club user being ejected from the facilities; continued refusal is a breach of the Rules and as such Solan Fitness may terminate the user’s Membership as stated in the Terms and Conditions.  All Club users should use suitable measures to maintain basic standards of hygiene, such as using deodorant, showering if needed, and wearing clean gym attire whilst training. 

CONDUCT

All Members, Guests must conduct themselves in a respectful manner whilst using Club facilities. Any Club user who acts in an intimidating, abusive, violent or disrespectful manner may be ejected from the Club, and Members may have their Membership terminated with no refund of fees already paid.

During busy periods, Club users are to use only one weights station at a time. All weights and equipment should be replaced correctly after use, and equipment and machines should be wiped down.

Any Club users who are unsure of how to use a piece of equipment should seek instruction before doing so. Solan Fitness will not take any responsibility where a Club user sustains injury from incorrect use of equipment. If any equipment is found to be faulty or malfunctioning, please report this to Solan Fitness staff immediately.

All Club users must comply with any reasonable request from Solan Fitness staff in relation to health and safety, and to ensure smooth running of the Club.

All minors using the Club must be supervised by an accompanying adult at all times. No photography or videos (including the taking of images through a mobile phone or camcorder) is allowed in any area of the Club.

No Club user may bring external personal trainers to the Club or act as a personal trainer, paid or otherwise. Solan Fitness Personal Trainers/Coaches have been confirmed as holding the required certification and qualifications, and as such are the only trainers permitted to work in the Club.

CHANGING ROOMS

No children are allowed in the changing room of the opposite sex once they have reached the age determined by the Club. Club staff or other users of the changing rooms at the time may agree to relax this particular restriction in particular circumstances.

LOCKERS AND LOST PROPERTY

The majority of lockers in Club are for day use only; Club users are required to provide their own padlock or can purchase one from reception. Solan Fitness strongly advises all Club users to lock their belongings in a locker at all times that they are using the Club’s facilities.

There is limited availability for permanent lockers, which can be hired for ongoing use. Payments for permanent lockers must be kept up to date at all times.

For any day lockers left padlocked overnight, or permanent lockers not paid for up-to-date, Solan Fitness reserves the right to cut the lock and remove items from the locker. Members will need to see reception and pay a recovery fee, to gain access to their belongings. Any belongings not picked up within a reasonable time will be kept in the Club for a reasonable period and then may be donated to charity.

Any property found left unattended in the Club will be kept for a reasonable period, and then may be donated to charity.

Solan Fitness takes no responsibility for loss, theft or damage for any items brought into the Club. Solan Fitness strongly recommends Club users to avoid bringing valuable items to the Club where at all possible.

LOST PROPERTY

All lost property found on the premises should be handed in to the Club reception. Items whose ownership cannot be identified will be stored by the Club for six weeks and then donated to local charities. Items which appear valuable may be sold with the proceeds donated to charity.

FACILITIES

No food or drink should be consumed in the Club, other than drinks in sealable containers. Alcohol and illegal substances are prohibited from being brought into and/or consumed on the premises; any Club user under the influence of alcohol or illegal substances may be ejected from the Club. Smoking is prohibited on Club premises at all times.

SAFETY AND HYGIENE

In the interest of Safety and Hygiene, no crockery or glass is allowed in the changing rooms, fitness areas, studios, lounge and other activity areas. No pets will be allowed in the Club premises, with the exception of guide dogs. Entry to the Club is only permitted at the Club reception and entrance. Fire exits, which are clearly marked, are there in the interests of safety and members and guests must not interfere with these doors for any reason. In the event of an emergency evacuation, members and guests must immediately make their way in an orderly fashion to the nearest available exit.

COMMENTS AND COMPLAINTS

Please refer any comments or complaints to a member of the Club staff. Written complaints must be addressed to the Club General Manager.

NON-SOLICITATION

During the term of this Agreement and after any termination of this Agreement, you will not directly or indirectly approach your own behalf or on behalf of another competitor, in any capacity: (a) Solicit Business. Solicit the business or patronage of any Customer for any other person or entity (b) Divert Business. Divert, entice, or otherwise take away from the Companies the business or patronage of any Customer, or attempt to do so, or (c) Terminate Business. Solicit or induce any Customer to terminate or reduce its relationship with the Companies.

PHYSICAL ACTIVITY READINESS QUESTIONNAIRE (PAR-Q)

pon joining the Club all new members are required to complete and sign a Physical Activity Readiness Questionnaire also known as a Medical Waiver. The purpose of this is to ensure that the Club’s staff are fully informed of any physical or medical condition which could affect the members ability or suitability to take part in physical activities. The Club strongly recommends that all members seek medical advice before commencing a new exercise programme and The Club reserves the right to request a doctor’s certificate and to reject a membership application if a satisfactory doctor’s certificate is not received by The Club.

RE-RACK YOUR WEIGHTS

Members who use the weights must ensure they re-rack the weights they have used. It is a member’s obligation to ensure the gym floor is free from hazards and health and safety issues by re-racking the weights they have used. If members do not re-rack their weights, we have a 3 strike rule which applies to all members. The first strike is a verbal warning, second strike is a written warning and the third strike is membership terminated at immediate effect. Any members on a contract membership must pay the remaining membership upfront. Any members who paid membership upfront will not receive a refund of their membership. 

SUNBEDS  

The sunbeds provided by the club is chargeable, you may find out about the prices at reception. Only over 18 year old adults may use the sunbeds. Members/clients who use the sunbeds accept full liability and take responsibility for the usage of the sunbeds. There are important health and safety posters of safe indoor tanning of the sunbed in the room which outlines the recommendations of use, all members/clients must read this and for those who use the sunbed 

CLASSES

Solan Fitness timetables, instructors and classes are subject to change at any time. Solan Fitness will endeavour to provide notice when a class is unable to take place for any reason.

Members are recommended to book in advance to ensure that a class has space for them. Members can book online or call from 6am each morning to book into a class for that current day. A member cannot book onto classes that overlap each other. Solan Fitness operate with a “two strikes” non-attendance rule, whereby two no shows in any 30 day rolling period will result in a two-week booking ban. A member should cancel a class booking at least one hour in advance of the class to avoid receiving a strike.

Class tickets should be collected from reception, with participants expected to arrive on time. If a participant arrives late, entry to the class may be denied at the absolute discretion of the class instructor.
